Happy Birthday Finley!

I cannot believe my little girl turned 5!  How do the days, weeks, months, and years pass by so quickly?  Finley is such a sweet little girl with the biggest heart!  She has grown up so much over this last year.  She is doing well in school, enjoys her classmates, enjoys lunch and the fact that they get chocolate milk twice a day!  :)  She will graduate from being an Awana Cubbie this week...and is now too old for Beginner's Church!

Finley has a very vivid imagination!  She enjoys playing dress up and prefers to wear dresses every day!  Two weeks ago, I finally talked her into wearing yoga pants and a tee shirt to school!  She has since gone back to dresses and leggings...and that's fine with me, because that's who she is!  She enjoys playing with Barbies, still loves books and coloring, and recently discovered how much fun legos are!

Finley loves her little brothers...recently I said how nice it will be when Ace moves back into his room so she can have her table/chairs back in her room to color at or to do legos at.  She was very quiet...and then I noticed that her eyes were filled with tears.  When I asked her why she was about to cry, she lost it and said "I don't want Ace to move out of my room!!!"  She thought maybe AJ could move in too.  She is so sweet!

We've also discovered that she loves to play tricks on people...she can be very sneaky and laughs SO hard after the "trick" plays out!

She has a huge vocabulary and is so expressive with everything she does!  She tells stories with so much enthusiasm and drama!

Finley loves that Rookie rolls over whenever she is near and begs for her to scratch his tummy...come to think of it, she might be the only one that he doesn't growl at!

Finley has a HUGE sweet tooth...and was excited to receive a box of
chocolates from Great Grandma Carol for her birthday!

I love when Brent tries to sneak a chocolate without the kids noticing...
Finley will say, "Dad, what does your breath smell like?"  HA!

Finley had a Cinderella themed party...

The kiddos all enjoyed decorating their own crowns...

and the boys were good sports about being "princesses" too!  :)

Presents!  Finley received many new sets of legos!

I took the boys shopping one evening so they could pick out a gift for Finley...just as we got to the toy isle, Ace declared (very loudly) "I have to poop!"  Uff!  He grabbed the first toy he saw and off we ran to the checkout lanes...she loved the lego girl he chose!  :)

Finley loves to have her nails painted and the pink polish that
Ava gave her is now her new favorite color!

The box that the polish came in was extra special because it was made just for Finley by Ava!

Finley also loves the new hat that Auntie Ericka made her!

When we got to school on Monday she said "OH NO!  I forgot to wear my new
hat from Auntie Ericka!"  She started to ask me if I could run home to get it...
but agreed with me that that it was best to leave it at home
so it wouldn't get ruined in the rain!  :)

A new game...that we will all love playing!

Finley chose the menu for her party:  BBQ sandwiches, brown beans, and ice cream!

Loving the attention as everyone sang "Happy Birthday!"

My pretty 5-year-old!

After the candles were pulled out, she added Oreo cookies, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup!

Finley got to celebrate her actual birthday at school.
She was excited to bring treats for snack time, liked that her class sang "happy birthday" to her,
proudly showed off the book and birthday hat from Mrs. Amanda when she got home,
and was okay with the fact that she didn't get to be line leader that day
because they had a new girl in their class!  :)
