Big Boy

Ace got some big boy undies for his 2nd birthday, but has had absolutely no desire to put them on...until the other day when he humored me for about 3 minutes!  He looked very cute and did a great job keeping them dry!  We are not pushing it...but would love to stop buying diapers for TWO boys!  :)

Bubbles

Is anyone ever too old to blow bubbles?  Brent and I enjoyed watching the kids blow bubbles this afternoon and enjoyed blowing them too as they chased them down!  I must admit, I am so thankful someone invented the spill-proof container!  

 AJ wasn't left in the house...he patiently sat and chewed on his blanket and enjoyed the sun too!

This picture makes me laugh...I didn't quite capture it, but in the background Finley is pouting because her little brother, Ace, just got done blowing a face full of bubbles at her!  BUT...don't feel too sorry for her because right after I put the camera down, she did the same to him!  :)

Quiet Time

Today we skipped "quiet time" and opted to enjoy the warm porch and do some arts and crafts...

One evening Ace snuck into the kitchen for a drink...he was being awfully quiet, so I went to check on him and saw this...

Books

On Saturday, Brent told me to walk by Ace's room, but be very quiet.  Here is what I saw...the two kiddos quietly reading books.  Brent always says we have way too many books, but if you ask either one of them what their favorite thing is...they'd both respond "BOOKS!"

6 Months

I say it every time, but I really cannot believe six months have passed since AJ came into our lives!  It feels like just yesterday I was meeting him for the first time.  Brent, however, would tell you a different story!  Ha!  AJ has recently begun to sleep through the night - YEAH!  He is still a big eater, very smiley, and loves watching Finley & Ace.  He talks up a storm, gets up on all fours and rocks back & forth, sits, and chews on everything he can!  I'm sure a tooth is on its way!

 I've often wondered if Ace and AJ will be friends...Ace truly goes about his own business and never really pays any attention to AJ.  Over the course of the last week or so, I've noticed this changing.  With AJ making more noise, it causes Ace stop to say "hi" or "hey buddy".  And with him rolling all over the place and getting up in the crawl position, I think this makes Ace notice him more too.  AND I think it makes him worried he's going to have to share his toys soon!  :)

That Boy

I have a hard time looking at Ace, scolding him, and keeping a straight face!  :)  He can be a stinker, but usually just because he likes to get a reaction!  His behavior is usually harmless...I promise!

These pictures were taken after nap time one day and he requested Doritos for his snack...my kind of snack too!  We ate them outside so the orange fingers could touch what they want!

But after pouting and complaining for a bit...he was all smiles!  He is on his own timeline and definitely has his own opinion!

Sometimes a Parent Can't Win...

The kids all slept in this morning and Brent made pancakes for all of us...that's my kind of morning!

Daddy made "special" pancakes for the kiddos...Ace loved it!

But Finley refused to sit down by her plate and CRIED!

Brent took whipped cream and made a smiley face...and used M & M's for the eys and nose...

But Finley wanted maple syrup...so Ace ate both special waffles!  M & M's first of course!  :)
