Grammy

It was so nice to have my Grandma Arlene visit for a few days!  What a blessing that she is willing and able to make the trip to visit and get to know my special kiddos and hubby!  :)

Uncle J

Uncle J took a couple vacation days to escape the FL heat and cool off with us in WI...

He patiently read the kiddos books...

...and learned more about dinosaurs than he probably cared to learn!

Finley and J are pros when it comes to pictures!

On Monday, when I took Finley to school she said, 

"Mommy...why was golf on TV all weekend?"

I explained that Uncle J, Grandpa, Grammy, and Daddy all love golf and it was an important tournament.  She said, "Wow, they must love golf as much as I love Barbies!"

Lazy Days

Dinosaur Egg

Grandpa brought the kiddos a special "treat" last weekend...a dinosaur egg!

Story Time

AJ can often be found sitting in the little green chair looking at books.  The other day, I found the two boys squeezed into it, quietly looking at a book.  I asked Ace if AJ was reading to him...they both just smiled and seemed to like the thought of AJ reading to Ace.  :)

Ace Alan

Ace is such a laid-back, sweet boy.  I love listening to his stories, how he adores his older sister, how he likes being able to boss AJ around, how he will randomly go in to our fridge to grab a hot dog (and eat it cold)...I could go on and on!  :)  Here are a couple "loveable" quotes from him recently:

Mom:  Ace, where did you get those big eyes?

Ace:  God gave me this one (pointing to his left) and 

Jesus gave me this one (pointing to his right)!

We have had colds in our house recently, so one evening as I was tucking Ace in, I prayed that God would help to heal Ace's nose.  After we said "Amen", Ace opened his eyes and said "maybe God will give me a green nose".  I explained that God wasn't going to give him a new nose, but instead that God could help clear out the snot to help him breathe better.  Ace shrugged his shoulders and said "or he will give me a green nose...could be!"  Ha!  How does a mom argue with that...I just said 

"I doubt it buddy...but yes, could be!"  :)

Girly Girl

Finley is a girly girl through and through!  She has a way of convincing her brothers to play dress-up with her, convincing them to watch a Barbie movie or Strawberry Shortcake movie rather than Thomas the Train or the Land Before Time, loves to wear dresses, loves shoes, and loves to have her toenails and fingernails painted!  She also insists that she is going to be on the dance team...and not the basketball team!  I guess that would be okay...but really?  Basketball is in her genes...ha!  

Recently, she has also enjoyed playing "princess dress-up", "princess paint", or "nail salon" on the I-pad.

She is teaching Daddy how to paint fingernails in the picture above!

But once he put his stocking hat on...all was fine!

He refused to get out of the recliner...

Easter Baskets

When the kids woke up on Sunday morning, they were anxious to see if the Easter Bunny had found their house...

Ace found his basket behind the curtain!

Of course it had to be green!

This is really just to show the awesome "flip" that he woke up with in his hair!

Finley found her basket in the play fridge!

And of course asked to open the chocolates...for breakfast!

AJ slept in that morning...

...and didn't know what to think of all the excitement!

But he did smile as Daddy read him his new books!

Puzzle Time

Finley and Ace both received  puzzles from Lynn as their Easter "treat"...they both went right to work!

Finley's was a 48-piece princess puzzle...

...that was like a hologram.  

She completed it with very little help!

Ace got a super hero puzzle...

Guess which part he did first...yep!  The Incredible Hulk..."the big, green guy!"
