Brent and I took the kiddos camping last weekend...just for one night. It was a lot of work and really cold, but they loved every minute!
We literally had a rundown softball field in our "backyard"!
I am not sure how they got away with calling our location a "site"...
or how they collected $25 from us! :)
Not much of a view...but people could have sat in the bleachers
to watch how the Arndt Family camps!
Finley loved every minute...she kept saying, "this is the best day of my life!"
Ace loved it too, but didn't quite understand what we were doing.
He kept asking, "when are we going camping?"

AJ was so dirty and smelly by the time we packed up to leave...
but he held his own and seemed to really enjoy himself!
Finley was upset that I packed feety pajamas for her to wear that night...
she slept without any blanket and with her jammies unzipped the entire night!

Brent and I were thankful for friends that came to visit us for a few hours that afternoon...by 6 o'clock I was extremely bored, cold, and damp. Brent kept a positive attitude the entire time...even when I was begging to go for a drive or to do something to kill some time! :) We ate supper at 4:30...had s'mores polished off by 5...and were all cozied up in the tent by 7:30 with kiddos snoring by 8. Brent and I had a hard time sleeping that night...between worrying if the kids were warm enough, Brent going to the bathroom multiple times, refilling our air mattress, the rain, the wind...
and being woke up by a noisy woodpecker...I think we got 2 full hours of sleep. :)
Totally worth it though to create family memories!!!
And yes, we will go again in August!
