Preschool

Finley had her open house for preschool this afternoon.  Yesterday I went in to work early and explained to Finley that I was "going in early today so I could leave early tomorrow" to take her to school.  Instantly her eyes filled with tears!  She was quiet and then said, "Mom do you remember when I was three?"  Yes.  "I wish I could be three again."  Why?  "Because then I wouldn't have to go to school."  (awe...broke my heart!)  I explained that she doesn't have to school, but instead GETS to go to school!  Mommy and Daddy didn't get to go to preschool, but she does!  How lucky is that?  How blessed are you?  She didn't really respond, but the tears did go away.  :)

We got to tour the school tonight, meet her teacher, see where she is going to sit, put her blanket/pillow in her cubby, etc.  She was all smiles!

When we left she said, "Oh, I love my new school, but it's not home sweet home!"  HA!

If you think of it, send up a little prayer for Miss Finley next Wednesday at about 8 am!  :)

Chipmunk

This little chipmunk was caught behind our garbage cans by Finley and Ace!  They were both so excited to see him that they didn't realize how badly they were scaring it! :)

Ace said "awe, poor little guy!"

Girls Afternoon

Finley and I spent the afternoon together yesterday...first we got pedicures, had an early supper together, bummed a bit, and finished our day off by hitting all the sample stations at Sam's Club...one of Finley's favorite things!  Seriously!  :)

Every Boys Dream?

I don't know if all boys love cars, trucks, tractors, etc., but our Aceman sure does!  And at only 10 months, we know that AJ does as well!  The two of them will often be found pushing cars around our living room or porch.  Ace had been telling us for the past few weeks that he "needs a wagon" for his tractor.  I don't think any of my kids "need" anything...but we took him to the John Deere dealership yesterday to take a look.  He was in complete AWE!  :)

Inside first to check out the toy section!

I think his Christmas list is set!

And then outside to check out the BIG toys!

He could have stayed out there all day long...

He checked out all the levers, switches, knobs, etc.!

So curious!

And yes, made a tractor noise the entire time!

Can you hear the "vroom" coming from his mouth!?!

Even Miss Finley in her pretty dress had to check out the shiny green machines!

Gotta love this!  All in a gator...there was a 4th, but I didn't dare ask the probably already annoyed sales rep to take a picture of all of us!  :)

Helpers

9 times out of 10, Finley and Ace are great helpers!  Especially when it involves the lawnmower!  :)

Watching as Daddy loads blocks into the wagon...

"Whoa, those are heavy blocks!"

Riding on top of the blocks...and in the wagon!  What lucky kiddos!

Pea Shooter

Ace in the driveway with his "pea shooter"!  :)  I wish I had one of the rubberband guns my grandpa made when we were little for this boy!  He'd love it!

Wisconsin Dells

We took a mini vacation down to the Dells last weekend.  It was nice to get away and the kids enjoyed the waterparks.

Finley and Ace the night we arrived...

Oh...that little brother stresses her out! :)

Up early, ready to hit the waterpark!

Taking a break and watching the golfers outside our room.

Our buddy boy!

Finley and I also went school shopping while the boys napped.  She picked out some new shoes, clothes, and a backpack.  She begins school Sept. 5.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Last Thursday was Brent's birthday...he worked up north that day so I didn't see him at lunch...then he golfed on the bank's golf team that evening...so the kids and I had to be very patient until he got home that night to sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY and eat ICE CREAM!  :)

Happy Birthday to Daddy!

Finley is all business when it comes to ice cream!

Ace enjoyed the "birthday cake" ice cream too!

How Does This Happen?

I think this only happens when a little boy is trying to delay bedtime!  :)

Goodbye...For Now!

What a blessing for Brent and I to have Grandma & Grandpa and Uncle J come up for a visit...to watch our kiddos while our daycare was on vacation!  As always, the time went too fast!  We enjoyed our time together, enjoyed all the laughs, "home cooked" meals, chats, etc.!

Uncle Justin & Miss Finley

Isn't this how it goes?  :)

A little better!

HA!  :)

Again...a little better!  :)

Uncle J

The kids enjoyed playing with Uncle J all week...he read them many books, pushed them on the swings, and of course gave piggyback rides!

AJ is wondering where he can fit?

Stressed?

Do you notice anymore grey hair on Lambeau?  The kids have been home for 9 days straight...totally throwing off the dogs daily routine of (1) sleep, (2) sleep, and (3) sleep!  :)

Oh Mom!

Taking a Break in Stillwater

What makes a road trip even longer...road construction, car trouble, a car accident, etc.  We ran into a closed HWY just before entering Wisconsin and were detoured through Stillwater, MN.  What a great place to stop, stretch our legs, and eat some ice cream!

Looking down at the St. Croix River

Posing in front of the "ship"!

Happy to be out of the van!

Silly kids!

Finley chose chocolate...

MESSY!  It's even up by her eye!

Ace chose mint chocolate chip (my favorite too!)...

His entire neck was "minty"!

Cutie Pie!

Love the chops!

Wrestling before loading back up in the van!

And wouldn't you know it...about 10 minutes after crossing the Wisconsin border, we hit road construction too!  :)
