This made me laugh...Yesterday, on the way home from daycare, the kids were
telling me about a toad they had seen in the play yard. I asked if a toad was
an amphibian or a reptile. Ace laughed and said, "toads are not
rectangles!" :)

High Heels
Finley has wanted high heels for probably about a year. All the high heels we see in the stores seem to be about two sizes too big. Well on Saturday she found a pair of wedge flip flops...and they fit! They were on clearance for $3.50 so we snagged them up and she put them on right away! She slid her feet around all day! I kept asking if they hurt her feet..."NO!" She refused to take them off and I caught her on multiple occasions looking down at them or looking at herself in the mirror! She was in 7th heaven!
Finley's first pair of "high heels"
OH...and this breaks my heart! When I picked her up from daycare on Monday she sadly announced that her high heels had broke! I could tell she was holding back the tears! :( I tried to assure her that we would try to fix them or that we could probably find another pair. Her response to finding another pair was "But mom...it's a really long way to Wausau!" I told her that we would look for some this coming weekend while in North Dakota!
Castle
Finley and I went shopping on Saturday together...what a special day with my little girly! She talked my ears off, but I loved every moment! :) When we walked into the first store she saw a castle tent that she's "dreamed of having for SO long!" How does a mom resist that? I said if it was still there when we left, we would talk about it. Well...it was still there and she promised to share with her brothers! So it came home with us!
Ace loves the tent and enjoys being the "prince"! He even napped in it on Sunday!
And Finley happily shares with her brothers and even the dogs...Finley & Ace have watched their evening show in the tent each night since we brought it home too!
Happy Birthday!
Last Thursday Rookie turned 6! :) So the kids and I thought we should have a party! We went to K-Mart that evening and bought party hats and noise makers. Each kid also chose a present for Rookie. Finley picked peanut butter stuff treats and Ace picked a squeaky toy - Rookie loved both! :)
Not so sure about his party hat!
Ace loving the party!
AJ didn't care so much about the party...but loved the whipped cream!
I like this...Finley, Ace, and I are singing Happy Birthday to Rookie and AJ is trying so hard to get to the spoon of whipped cream! :)
I like this too...Lambeau is pouting in the background because Rookie was getting all the attention!
Those kids! :)
Time for the whipped cream!
Ha - I know you're all smiling at this!
OH...Lambeau is still pouting and hiding under the table!
Whoa!
One night Finley went to bed with two french braids...the next morning her hair was beyond puffy! And she loved it! :)
Proudly posing before church!
Pretty girl...wild hair and all!
That morning we sat at the front of church and during the special music Finley caught some "wind" from the ceiling fan...well she suddenly turned into a hair model! :) Brent and I both got the giggles as she let her hair "blow in the wind". Ha!
Corn
It seems that each summer we are amazed at how tall the corn grows by Lynn's house...this year the kids have enjoyed watching the corn grow from little sprouts to tall shoots with long tassels on the top! Finley had the fun idea one morning to take a picture of us by the corn so everyone could see just how tall it is!
Ace looks pretty little!
The second we stepped out of the van Finley began complaining about how hot it was...and how smelly it was...and how bright it was! Uff!
Don't think that she is just squinting...she is whining and on the verge of tears!
But she was all smiles when I said she could take a picture of me and AJ too...but Ace didn't want to pose with us! Ha...some mornings it's nice to go to work! :)
Driveway Bonfire
You all know what a sweet tooth Brent has...so he is always looking for an excuse to have chocolate! :) What better than to roast marshmallows and make s'mores in the driveway!?!
Keeping their distance from the HOT flames!
Mmmm!
Such concentration!
Ace loves anything having to do with sticks! He had a bite of his s'more and then opted to pretend his stick was a sword!
One casualty...who was wearing the white tee? :)

Brent's Baptism
Reading his testimony before being baptized
Congrats from Grandma Carol
Congratulations Brent...we are very proud of you!
Picnic
Our church had a picnic this afternoon...it was fun to sit on a blanket and eat lunch with the kiddos.
Taking a break from the sun...and no, Brent's not about to drop AJ...AJ is trying to get down! :)
Such good kids!
The frogs in the pond were a big hit with Ace! He touched this big guy a couple times...I dread the day when he brings me one in the house! Finley waded in the pond, until a frog touched her leg! Ha!
Pudding
My kids aren't normally messy eaters...but bring out the pudding and they are! How does Ace get SO messy?
The 4th
It was SO hot on the 4th of July...we were inside most of the day, but did make it out to the pool for a little while...and had to hook up the sprinkler to cool the pool water off.
How many kids fit in the kiddie pool? :)

Chasing Butterflies
My question: Is it actually possible to catch one? She tries so hard, but never even gets close...I tried too and didn't do any better! Butterflies fly so "herky-jerky"! In the event we actually would catch one...what would we do with it anyway? I asked Finley and her response was, "we would put it in a jar, poke holes in the top, and keep it." :)
Day with the Kiddos!
Our daycare was closed yesterday, so I got to spend the day at home with our kiddos! We had a great day and I cherished every moment! They are all three such sweet kids! Brent and I are beyond blessed!
Helping Mommy fill up the pool!
The boys in pool...that felt like bath water because it was so hot outside!
This little guy loved every moment in the water with the two older kids!
He so badly wants to be BIG!
