Silly Socks

Tonight was "Silly Sock Night" at Awana...Little brother couln't be left out!

Ace loved wearing one of Finley's socks so much that he insisted it be put on over his feety-PJ's!  :)

The Vest

Finley came home tonight from AWANA proudly sporting her new Cubbies vest...and I must say, she looked very cute!  :)

38 1/2 Weeks

I am feeling VERY pregnant these days...and trying to be as patient as I can waiting for this little boy to make his appearance!  I feel good, but have restless nights of not being able to get comfy, leg cramps, aching hips...and just when I start to drool...my bladder tells me it's full!  :)  I am going to the doctor on a weekly basis, as well as the chiropractor on a weekly basis.  I had a pinched nerve and thankfully have found relief in weekly adjustments.  Last week at my medical appointment I was measuring "full term"...and have measured about 2 weeks "big" at each appointment for some time now.  She confirmed that there isn't much room in my tummy and that it feels like "a lot of baby".  UFF!  His movements have slowed and he feels really low...I hope to learn that I have progressed beyond 1cm (where I've been for two weeks) at my doctor appointment tomorrow morning.  Stay tuned!

Breakfast Time

9 mornings out of 10 our kids wake up in good moods and enjoy eating breakfast which typically consists of yogurt, cereal bars, cereal, or waffles...just a little appetizer before they get a "real" breakfast at Lynn's!  :)

Finley usually wakes up shortly after Brent and patiently waits for Daddy to get ready and the two of them enjoy some quality Father/Daughter time!

Ace usually wakes up when I'm in the shower and bursts into the bathroom to greet me!  Then quickly goes looking for his big sister!

Happy kids!

Those Kids...and That Dad!

Guess who got Finley dressed...yep, she did!  :)

I don't know what Finley and Brent were laughing so hard at???

Chasing Daddy as he uses the leaf blower!

Who knew a leaf blower could provide so much entertainment?!?!

Silly kiddos!

Playground Fun

Last Thursday we met friends at Happy Joe's for supper and the kids enjoyed playing while we waited for our pizza.  We are trying to enjoy as many nice days outside as we can...before winter shows its ugly face!  :)

Dance Class

Finley attended her first dance class of the year on Monday evening.  She is in the 3 to 4 year old "Creative Movement" class.  She was beyond excited!  She was all smiles when we walked into the studio and all smiles when we left!  30 minutes is a long time for those little ones...the mom's got to watch the last 5 minutes of class and I must say, it was CHAOS!  Finley was making faces in the mirror, the boy next to her had a pretend sword, a couple girls just stood there, and one refused to leave her mom's side.  I would have taken a picture, but I think it might have sent the teacher over the edge!  HA!

Bubbles

 Patiently watching Daddy blow bubbles...

Watching them fly high in the sky!

Concentrating on stepping on a few...

Excitement is all over her face!

 Cutie!

Poor Ace is working on cutting his i-teeth!

 Love this!

 And this!  :)

The fun only lasted a few minutes before Daddy got "dizzy"!  Ha!

Safety First

Garage Sale "Steal"!

Great-Grandma Carol found the kids a new toy at a garage sale...I think it will provide YEARS of entertainment for the three kiddos!
Shooting hoops...Mommy and Daddy need to teach her proper form!

 Big Smiles!

Already Finley is making Ace be the goalie!

Daddy joining in on the fun!

Tossing the football

Boys and Their Toys

Brent and Ace enjoyed time on the tractor after church on Sunday...

I think they could have "tinkered" around the yard all morning!

All Boy

Ace loves anything with wheels!

Comments

So a couple days ago I posted some of the recent conversations that we've had with Finley...well tonight she had an extremely big mouth while we were at the salon waiting for Ace's turn to get his hair cut!  A woman had come into the store part of the salon to browse and I saw right away that she caught Finley's eye, but didn't think anything of it.  After she made her purchase and was leaving the salon, Finley said in her very clear and loud voice, "Look at her funny hair!"  Thankfully, the woman continued walking and Brent and I quietly explained that her hair wasn't "funny" just a different style than we've ever seen!  Ha!

MUMS!

I love this time of year...Mums are everywhere and I couldn't resist purchasing two of these beautiful pots...now let's hope we (okay...Brent) remember to cover them when the frost comes!

Hair Cut!

Ace got his second hair cut tonight...

AWANA

Finley attended Awana at our church for the first time last night.  She will go every Wednesday through the school year and be a "cubbie"...stay tuned for photos of her in her vest!  Brent is volunteering with some of the older children.  Finley has a verse that she needs to memorize before next Wednesday...homework at three?

Finley was all smiles when they left...and full of chatter when they returned.  She proudly announced that she "only cried two times!"  She sang me some of the songs they sang, told me about the game they played, and that they had ice cream for a snack.

Bed Time

I wonder who loves the new "big girl" bed more...Finley or Daddy?  :)

Conversations with Miss Finley

We've learned that you never know what will come out of the mouth of a three-year-old!  I can't help but smile at Finley's innocence, curiosity, and constant chatter!

Mommy:  Finley, come feel your baby brother kicking!
(after feeling my tummy)
Finley:  Mommy, do you think he's wearing shoes?

Finley:  Mommy, what do you think my new brother will look like?
Mommy:  Probably a lot like you and Ace.
Finley:  What do you think he'll be wearing?
Mommy:  His birthday suit!
Finley:  (rolling her eyes) Oh, Mommy!

Finley:  Mommy, we should name my baby brother Justin Beaver!
Mommy: (after controlling my laughter)  Honey, we already have an uncle Justin.
Finley:  (thinking very hard)  Maybe we can call him Justin Beaver?!?!
Mommy:  Yes, we should call Uncle Justin, Justin Beaver!

Finley:  Daddy, when we will see our butterfly?
Daddy:  When it comes out of the cocoon.
Finley:  Daddy, butterflies don't come out of cocoons, they come out of a chrysalis.
(Brent looks at me in awe...we both think...is she right?  Where did she learn that?  How are we going to help her with her homework?  WOW!)
